I
am writing to thank you for producing a preamp that makes
music an experience of ineffable beauty. The tonal nuances
are articulated so well that the eccentricities of each musical
instrument and the touch of the musician become palpable.
The moment of contact for example between a particular violinist's
chord and a particular string on the violin comes alive as
if the event has just occurred. The HP-100 in other words
enables a time reversal to take place such that, reproduced
music ceases to be a sound from the past and appears to occur

have three words for you and this preamp: Incredible, Astonishing
and Delicious. The music and all instruments and voices (I
listen to mostly opera) seemed to be in real space and time.
I could not be happier, though I wish I understood just how
this magic happens.
The only comparable time in the decade-plus
I have been putting my system together was when I listend
to Stravinsky's Firebird on my VPI rig with my newly acquired
Transfiguration Temper a few years ago - I sat there in disbelief
that a diamond being dragged through a piece of vinyl could
result in such astonishing results. I can think of no higher
praise for your pre-amp than this comparison. —David
